How do you know if your recipe is the best one out there?
If you’re like most of us, you probably think you’re just good at baking.
In reality, however, you might just be bad at it.
That’s because many recipes out there are so easy to make and so easy not to have to worry about anything beyond the ingredients.
So, to help you out, we’ve put together a handy guide to help guide you through the process of making your very own puff pastry.
Read on to find out how to make your very first puff pastry and how you can get started with the perfect homemade pastry.
First things first: How to make a puff pastry recipe You’ll need: 2 cups of unsalted butter (about 1/4 cup for the recipe) 1/2 cup of sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup of all-purpose flour 1/8 cup of milk 3/4 teaspoon salt (optional) To make the filling: 1 cup (about 2 sticks) of unsweetened cocoa powder 3/8 teaspoon salt 1 cup unsalted coconut milk 1/3 cup water 3/16 teaspoon salt To make puff pastry: In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, flour, and salt until well blended.
Add the coconut milk and water and stir until the mixture is well combined.
Form the mixture into 2 balls.
Dip each ball in the batter and then in the chocolate, then the remaining batter.
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes, until golden and firm to the touch.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Recipe Notes This recipe is suitable for children as well as adults.
You can use any type of cake mix, but we recommend using coconut flour for a smooth, fluffy pastry.
To make a thicker pastry, add a bit more water.
If you are using a cake mix that contains wheat flour, try adding more flour.
We recommend using a heavy cream or half-and-half or double cream for the filling.
If using a filling made with other dairy products, we recommend adding a small amount of nonfat milk to the filling to make the pastry more fluffy.
